SPECIAL NOTE: Voice LA was held on June 26 at USC's Zemeckis Center for the Digital Arts. Voice LA will be held next year at about the same time and it will be expanded with an increased emphasis on hand-on filmmaking, acting, producing and writing. In addition, there will be longer sessions on collaborations and building film projects. Interested volunteers and Advisors for next year should contact Norm Wada at Voice Films as we are already planning for the event.

VoiceLA is designed for writers, directors, producers, cinematographers, editors, actors, musicians, photographers and anyone of the age 14-20 years interested in all aspects of filmmaking. We welcome beginning through advanced filmmakers and artists. The Forum is designed for maximum learning, sharing and collaboration in areas related to expressing your VOICE through film and animation.

 


VoiceLA Film Forum will be held at USC's Robert Zemeckis Center for Digital Arts. Located in the the heart of Los Angeles, the center features the latest in non-linear production and post-production equipment, as well as production stages, a 50-seat screening room, and the USC student-run television station.

We'll be holding our production and directing forums on a sound stage and will show various films in the Ron Howard screening room. (directions)



Apple Voice Films Celebration
: We will be holding a post celebration to share two new films, "Fate Smiles" and "God Bless," at the Apple Store Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. You will see each film; learn about the technical details of editing the films, synching sound, working with foly; learn more about the filmmakers and crew; and have a great time meeting other people. You can also check out some of the cool new creative Apple tools.

For writers, directors and actors and involves working with a professional director and acting coach on submitted scripts.

FROM THE 10 SANTA MONICA FREEWAY
Exit Hoover St. Turn left to Jefferson. Turn left on Figueroa continue to the 32nd street. Take a left on 32nd street to the Zemeckis Center.

FROM THE 110 HARBOR FREEWAY
Exit on Exposition Blvd. Go one block west.
Turn right on Figueroa St. and continue to the 32nd street. Take a left on 32nd street to the Zemeckis Center.

FROM LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (LAX)
Take the 405 San Diego Freeway north to the 10 Santa Monica Freeway east.
Exit on Hoover St. Turn right (south) to Jefferson continue to the 32nd street. Take a left on 32nd street to the Zemeckis Center.

AT THE CENTER
The only entrance to the building is on W. 32nd Street, ½ block west of Figueroa. If you are driving South on Figueroa, from downtown LA towards USC, turn right on W. 32nd and the Zemeckis Center is on your right.

PARKING:
The school is currently not in session so there should be plentiful available street parking (between Figueroa and Hoover on W. 32nd St.). Be sure to read the parking signs for restrictions. As an alternative, across the street from the Zemeckis Center on the South side of 32nd Street is the Shrine Auditorium.

The main phone number for the Robert Zemeckis Center is 213-743-2702. Please use this number for location-specific questions only. They will not be able to answer questions about the Voice LA Forum.
