| Forum Session: "Directing and Producing Review - Hands-on"
At sixteen years old Josh Rose and his partners launched what became one of the most innovative visual effects companies in our industry, VisionArt. Now with multiple Emmy nominations, an Emmy Award and Oscar recognition under his belt, Josh has successfully segued into becoming one of Hollywood’s hottest young up and coming directors. Josh has been directing and producing visual effects for film and television for years. In addition to his work on the Oscar award winning film “Independence Day,” he supervised such critically acclaimed films as “Dr. Dolittle,” “Godzilla,” “The Generals Daughter,” “Men in Black,” “Star Trek: First Contact,” “Dracula,” “Carlito’s Way,” “Natural Born Killers,” and “Cliffhanger.” His seven-year run on the “Star Trek“ television series earned him two Emmy nominations and in 1995, the Emmy Award. Josh’s success with visual effects has opened the door to his true passion, directing. He made his directorial debut with a series of commercials re-launching the Paul Mitchell campaign and has worked on commercials for BMW, Coca-Cola, Miller Beer and Mercedes Benz. Josh made his Feature film debut directing “The Painting” for Santa Monica Pictures, an inter-racial love story set against the civil rights movement and Vietnam war, starring Clifton Davis, Debbie Allen, Stacey Dash, Charles Shaugnessy and Ben Vereen and completed production on a short film for BMW last fall that is now screening exclusively at BMW’s North American Museum. Josh most recently wrote “The World Outside” for independent Production Co. The Film Foundry. In addition, he has original feature specs, television material and multiple optioned novels in his possession. Josh is repped by Renee Tab at ICM, Chris Pollack and P.J. Shapiro at Ziffren, Brittenham, Branca, Fischer, Gilbert-Lurie & Stiffelman LLP. Josh will be leading the afternoon session
on reworking a scene with the production team from "God Bless." |
