Voice Films is about remarkable youth expressing their own voices through filmmaking and every other art related to film: music, writing, acting, animating, designing and drawing. Over the next year, we will be profiling youth who are not only doing remarkable work and expressing a unique voice, but also who are great individuals. They work well with others, are supportive of other projects and are willing to share their talents and resources with others who want to express their voices. They are also tolerant of alternative viewpoints.

Filmmaking is unique: part business and part art, it requires the capacity to collaborate with others to express a shared vision. Through the filmmaking experience, youth grow individually and collectively. The experience can be a positive development experience for everyone involved. We want to share these experiences with others through the youth who are making films.

Girl Power: We've recently covered Dan Engelhardt and Brad Leong in the VoiceSF Storybook. We wanted to give you a glimpse of Sophie Shepard, a remarkable young woman, who recently finished directing a 25 minute film with a crew of 35 and professional actors twice here age. If you're going to Voice LA, you'll get to meet Sophie and see her and Culver High School's new film "Fate Smiles."
