Equipment:
Equipment is supposed to help make your work easier. Why is it that sometimes
it doesn't seem that way? Baby, our Panavision camera, really gave us
some beautiful shots, though. Chapman
Leonard gave a discount on the dolly, and Location
Sound gave a discount on the sound equipment. |

This is the Panavision

For those of you who don't
know, Panavison makes the film cameras that all big motion
pictures are shot on. You can't buy a panavision camera, you
can only rent them from Panavsion. The only person in the
world who owns a Panavsion camera is Stephen Spielberg. This
camera is worth a whopping one million dollars. We had to
pay about a grand and a half for the insurance policy. The
picture it gives is absolutely phenomenal. When I saw the
developed film I could hardly believe my eyes. This makes
my top of the line DV camera look like a Hi-8 camcorder from
1987. I think the serial number of the camera body was "P28."
We got it via a "new filmmakers" grant from Panavision.
Big companies are really nice.

Any spots on any of the
many layers of glass or filters would ruin the film and make
it ugly. Brad meticulously cleaned it with canned air and
other assorted tools. |

Dolly - Smooooth |

We had to unload a 350
pound dolly, but the smooth rolling action was SO worth it.
This thing was awesome! It even had a hydraulic lift arm |

We rented a U-Haul truck to stash the dolly,
crane, and lights in. As you can see, it was very safe, as
the gas cap was missing in action. |

Brad's cell phone got ran
over by a car when he lost it in Beverly hills. It's tough
being a producer. |
